Turmeric Tahini Loaded Chicken Salad
Packed with nourishing ingredients, Turmeric Tahini Loaded Chicken Salad is perfect for lunch at home or to make ahead and take on-the-go!
Do you have plans for lunch?
Well, now ya do!
Allow me to introduce you to Turmeric Tahini Loaded Chicken Salad.
This powerhouse salad is packed with so much goodness, I really don’t know where to begin.
First, it’s loaded with protein-rich chicken plus all kinds of fiber-packed veggies to keep you full.
Then, there’s the creamy dressing that’s magically dairy-free.
The creaminess? It comes from tahini, a super yummy sesame paste that adds tons of richness to the mix.
Also, there’s a healthy dose of anti-inflammatory turmeric to make the whole thing a party.
The inspiration came from a salad similar at a cafe recently, and knew I had to recreate it for you guys.
Using the original recipe as a guide, I bumped up the veggies and added raisins for a touch of sweetness to balance the savory flavors in the rest of the salad.
You can use store-bought, rotisserie chicken to make prep super simple if you like, or use leftover chicken from dinner another night.
I personally like to make a double batch of this salad, and pack it in mason jars to take on-the-go throughout the week.
I hope you’ll try this one soon. Now, let’s make some Turmeric Tahini Loaded Chicken Salad!
Recipe & Kid Friendly Adaptations
1 | Serve the chicken and veggies separately on a plate, with the dressing on the side for dipping.
2 | For a vegetarian option, swap the chicken for 1-2 cans of drained and rinsed cans of chickpeas. Lightly smash half the chickpeas, then proceed with the recipe.
3 | Chopped green apple would also be a nice addition to this salad.

Hi Regina, you’re right, coconut aminos don’t belong on that list! I’ve removed it. 🙂
I made this yesterday and it’s awesome! I used red onion instead of green and chopped up a green pepper instead of cabbage because that’s what I had on hand. I used dried cranberries instead of the raisins. Super easy and tasty; thank you!
Megan, so glad you made this work with what you had on hand and that you enjoyed the recipe!
I made this for lunch today and it was amazing! Used leftover rotisserie chicken from last nights dinner and added green apple and served over greens. The dressing is so good. Thank you Robyn!!!
Jen, yay, so happy to hear you enjoyed this one! Green apple sounds like a yummy addition, too!
Made today for the first time…why have I waited so long??? It was delicious. I only had craisins instead of the raisins and I added the green apple for extra crunch. Can’t wait for lunch tomorrow.
Nicole, LOVE the idea of craisins and apple–definitely trying that variation next time. So happy you enjoyed. Cheers!
This looks amazing, will definitely be trying it soon. I love tahini in dressings, a no mayo and DF way to add creaminess, yes please!
Shonna, yay, I hope you enjoy!
I made this for my lunches for 4 days this week and I loved it! I love the crunch from the cabbage and carrots and the little sweetness added from the raisins and the dressing was perfect!! This will be a regular lunch rotation for sure!
Stephanie, love that! Such a great one to have in the regular rotation. Cheers!
Yum! I’ve been meaning to make this for the past few weeks, and I finally made it for lunch today. I made the dressing as written, added both chicken and chick peas, and a bunch of chopped veggies I had in the fridge. No onion because I don’t have one right now, and I can tell that it’s missing. Will add some onion next time, for sure. Thanks for this delicious, healthful recipe.
Sonja, those additions sound lovely! So glad you enjoyed this one!
Bought a rotisserie chicken and whipped this healthy salad together in no time! I’m not an enthusiastic cook but I feel pretty darn good about how I was able to make this so easily.
Love love love your book and podcast too Robyn! Thanks for all your hard work!!
Dori, yay, so happy to hear this one was a hit for you – love the idea of using a rotisserie chicken, too. So smart! Thanks so much for your kind words and for leaving a review!
This has quickly become one of my favorite meals. Using the slaw mix and pre shredded carrots means this recipe comes together so quickly. And the dressing ingredients can just live in my pantry or fridge so adding this to the weekly meal list is super easy. But mostly i’s just SO TASTY. I get so excited every time I make it. Thanks for putting this recipe together!
Woohoo, so happy this is a go-to for you, Alissa! Love that you’re keeping the ingredients on hand for a quick meal. So smart. Thanks so much for leaving a review!
