About this Blueberry and Pineapple Smoothie Recipe
The flavor combination of blueberries and pineapple is one of my favorites, especially in smoothies!
While they may seem like an unlikely duo, trust me, they are a match made in smoothie heaven.
The sweetness of the pineapple perfectly balances out the slight tartness of the blueberries, resulting in a perfectly sweet and refreshing smoothie.
Which is exactly what I wanted to create in a smoothie – something that’s naturally sweet and bright tasting as well as protein-packed.
Not only is this recipe delicious, but it’s also beautiful thanks to the rich color of the blueberries (for more jewel-toned and delicious smoothies, try my blueberry peanut butter smoothie and blackberry smoothie).
This recipe also features vanilla Greek yogurt, which adds a touch of sweetness, but also adds a punch of protein.
And if you want a version without yogurt, no worries! Simply swap in a plant-based yogurt or skip it altogether.
I love an easy smoothie recipe, and when I tried this flavor combination, I knew I had to add it to my easy smoothie recipe repertoire.
This beautiful and delicious smoothie is one both kids and adults will love!

How to Make this Pineapple Blueberry Smoothie
The beauty of this pineapple blueberry smoothie is that all you really need to do is add all your ingredients to a blender and let it work its magic.
In no time, you will have a healthy, balanced breakfast or snack!
Using pre-chopped frozen fruit keeps prep time quick and delivers the best smoothie texture.
However, if you only have fresh fruit on hand, you can use that, but add a few ice cubes to the blender to create the creamy texture.
Naturally filled with protein from the yogurt, you don’t need to add additional protein, however if you would like to bump up the protein add a serving of vanilla protein powder to the blender.
I chose to leave out bananas in this recipe because bananas can tend to cover up other fruit flavors, and I really wanted the pineapple and blueberries to shine.
If you want to add bananas, check out the variations below.

Variations
Without yogurt: Leave the yogurt out, the smoothie will still be delicious.
Blueberry pineapple smoothie with banana: Add 1 frozen banana.
With protein powder: Make it a protein-packed blueberry pineapple fruit shake by adding 1 serving of your favorite vanilla protein powder.
Key Ingredients and Substitutions
Greek yogurt: I used whole vanilla Greek yogurt for this recipe. You can use unsweetened for a less sweet version. For a dairy-free and vegan version, be sure to use plant-based yogurt in place of traditional yogurt, or you can leave the yogurt out altogether.
Pineapple: The pineapple adds some brightness and acidity to this smoothie, along with some light sweetness. You can use fresh or frozen pineapple. I don’t recommend using canned, as the flavor will be diluted. If using fresh, add extra ice.
Blueberries: Both fresh and frozen blueberries work great in this recipe. If using fresh, add extra ice.
Milk: Any milk will work great in this recipe, including traditional or plant based such as almond milk, cashew milk; or hemp milk or oat milk for a nut-free option.
