For the Honey Orange Dijon Sauce

  • 3 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 2 tbsp honey (omit for Whole30)
  • 1/4 cup fresh squeezed orange juice (from about 1 medium orange)
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/4 tsp freshly ground pepper
  • 1 tbsp minced fresh sage

For the Honey Orange Dijon Chicken Skewers

  • 6 10-inch bamboo skewers presoaked
  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs excess fat trimmed, and cut into 1-inch chunks

  • In a medium bowl or mason jar, combine the mustard, honey, orange juice, olive oil, salt, pepper and sage, whisking or shaking until well combined.
  • Place the cubed chicken in a bowl. Add half the sauce and marinade for at least an hour, or all day in the refrigerator, covered.
  • Remove the chicken from the marinade, shaking off any excess. Thread onto bamboo skewers. Discard extra marinade.
  • Preheat the grill to medium-high heat (about 400F). When the grill is hot, place the skewers on the grill and cook for 7-8 minutes, flipping halfway, until the chicken is cooked through and grill marks have formed.
  • Serve with remaining sauce, atop rice, and slaw if you prefer.

  • Rosemary would work in place of sage
  • Chicken breasts work in place of thighs, though will be drier
